I started in the business as a dancer at the age of 15. I then began to realize that my life was not only about dance but also about music. I began purchasing records as a way to have the latest in dance music by the time I was 16 I had enough music to become a Disc Jockey, but I had no equipment. I thought to myself, if I had the right equipment I could start playing music at house parties and grow as a DJ. I started working at a catering hall as a bus boy so that I can buy the equipment I would need just to start off as a DJ. By the age of 17 I had enough and started purchasing equipment: standard mixer, 2 turntables, 2 speakers and a great amplifier, I became a DJ, YES!
I attended Ramapo College of New Jersey (Mahwah, NJ), and had my own radio show from 10:00 pm – 1:00 am on 93.1 in Mahwah & Ramsey. Our waves were not far I believe they were about 10-20 miles. We could only reach the locals, but overall it was a great experience. I then met another DJ that worked for an entertainment company and wanted me to work for them. Of course I was in college I needed a way to pay for school so I agreed. I also had another side job promoting nightclubs, which was a great way to get more publicity. I would DJ at clubs on the weekends and go to school during the week.
Overall I’ve enjoyed my life as a DJ and will continue to do so as long as I can. My specialty is making people dance and have a great time, Music is my Life!!!
