MOST Iconic Wedding Scenes

Are you a recently engaged movie buff? Or a fan of any flick with iconic “I dos?” Well, grab the popcorn and put on some PJs, ’cause we’ve got the list for you…
From over-the top gowns and overbearing in-laws to a color scheme that could only be described as “blush and bashful,” here are eleven movies with weddings worth watching.
Steel Magnolias1
This film is a total tearjerker, but Southern belles will swoon over the well-known wedding scene. Shelby, played by Julia Roberts, is tying the knot 1980s style, complete with puffy sleeves, teased hair, and a pink on pink color scheme. Plus, this movie serves up some serious groom’s cake inspiration!
Sex and the City2
Any fan of the SATC franchise will enjoy this wedding-filled flick. If you love high-fashion, landmark NYC locations, or you just can’t get enough of the whole Carrie/Big saga, then this movie was made for you.
We’re not claiming this is a good movie, but we have to admit, the wedding scene is totally on point. The moody forest venue is trendy, the florals are Insta-worthy, and Edward and Bella look pretty normal (you know, if you can get past the whole vampire thing).
Father of the Bride4
This super sweet film is pretty much all about weddings! Well, weddings and a father who can’t get over the fact that his daughter is about to tie the knot. Bonus points if you watch it with good old Dad before the big day…
My Big Fat Greek Wedding5
Anyone who has had to deal with overbearing in-laws, crazy family members, or keeping up with cultural or religious traditions will certainly enjoy this film. Watch what happens when a very-Greek gal falls in love with a non-Greek guy and has to convince her family to accept him before the big day.
Wedding Crashers6
How many weddings can you fit into one film? A lot. This cult classic brings you through the journey of two semi-professional wedding crashers as they crash weddings, fall in love, and find happy endings of their own.
Love Actually7
While we typically binge-watch this film around the holiday season, we have to say, it’s great year-round. This movie has a short but sweet wedding scene that pretty much started the whole flash-mob movement.
About Time8
Another Brit-tastic film… You’ll find yourself rooting for this lovable couple pretty much the entire movie. So, when they finally do tie the knot, you’ll enjoy every second. Plus, what’s not to love about a rainy wedding day, a red dress, and a memorable walk down the aisle?
We’re adding this fan-fave to the list because we could pretty much watch it every day. An absolutely hilarious account of what happens when your best friend is getting married, this is the perfect film to make you chuckle in the midst of all that stressful planning.
The Graduate10
What happens when a twenty-something guy is having an affair with an older woman and her daughter, and realizes who he really loves when it’s too late? Drama, of course. This wedding scene is full of high-intensity and not what you’d expect.
Mamma Mia11
! If you’re having a destination wedding, add this flick to the list. This one gives us all the wanderlust, and it’s a prime example of a picture-perfect destination wedding weekend (well, almost).
