These colors can appear on your invitations, table decorations, flowers, favors or in your outfit. Colors are based on the theme of the event. Others may plan the event color scheme around the venue they’ve chosen.

For example, if your venue has red in its decor, but your scheme includes green, you can use a small amount of the red in your color scheme to tie the two colors together seamlessly.

How to choose the best colors for your event…

The best plan is to choose a color you really love for your primary event color – it’s your favorite color…you can’t go wrong! Then choose a second color you would love to see at your party and find a way to make those colors work together, whether it’s through accenting or equal display.

Choose a maximum of three colors and have them in unequal proportions – the core color (about 65 to 70%) second color (about 25%) any additional accent colors (about 5 to 10%).
